this link between languages even clearer, we can of course focus our
students’ attention on some specific features of the text we’ve just read,
and relate them to Italian, for example
•we can introduce the concept of “international”
words – which can also have an Italian equivalent
•we can introduce the concept of cognates or
“true friends”
